Hamza el-Din
Hamza el-Din, Nubian ethnomusicologist,
composer and virtuoso oud player, has spent most of his life outside
his birthplace. With his Zen-like complexity-in-simplicity, he
may be bigger in Japan than on the streets of Sudan, but the echoes
of home remain strong.
